What do you do when your cake just won't bake? Sometimes when I bake cupcakes or cakes, there are spots where it is still the batter. But if I put it in for longer, the other parts overbake. What do I do?

There may be a problem with the heating element in your oven. You should have a repairman check it out.

Aslan would recommend that you also purchase an oven thermometer.  Check the oven for proper temps every once in a while, and it just costs a few dollars.

what type of pans are you using? there are a lot of choices and that's something you can 'Search' and research.  What pan is best for the type of baking you are doing.

It seems that Baking is Science, and Decorating is both Art and Science.
