Brainstorming for a cake I have scheduled for the end of the month. I'm trying to think of ways I could do an imprint of "fur" or a curly mane on fondant. (*Think cowardly lion mane*) I've considered impression mats and cutters, but can't seem to find what I might be looking for. Could also do it by hand, but not sure how I might get the right look. Any ideas of how I might be able to achieve the look I am going for? Thanks so much!!

if you add a little fondant to gum Paste to make it a little softer you could make big long curly coils by wrapping long thin pieces around wire/toothpicks, if you let it dry too long it'll snap when you try to shape it into a nice fluffy maine but if you take it off the wire too soon the coils will drop out... I reckon it'd make a lovely maine tho :-)
