I need red velvet for a few projects coming up. I have tried the Divascancook recipe and it was way too soft. Woudnt hold up under fondant and defintly cant sculpt with it but tasted good. Then I tried a recipe that call for DH red velvet mix with white choco pudding added I think it was called the Red Velvet Redux. It had a good texture and color but taste was bland. I am in need of a seriously good red velvet I can use under fondant and sculpt. Please help... Send me recipes you guys have actually tried

AI like the recipe at joyofbaking.com

Rose Levy Beranbaum's recipe in Rose's Heavenly Cakes is my favorite, flavor wise, but it's extremely light and fluffy. The joyofbaking one is more dense.

Bobby Flay's Red Velvet on Food Network is my favorite recipe.  It's on the denser side and would be good for sculpting and fondant.

Red velvet WASC. I use the regular WASC recipe http://www.food.com/recipe/white-almond-sour-cream-wedding-cake-69630 but I use 1 1/2c flour and 1/2c coco powder instead of 2c flour. I don't use almond just vanilla...yesterday when I made it I replaced 1/2 the water with vanilla creamer

BatterUp...why not WASC up a red velvet mix?   Just curious.   That's what I do...but I am so over red velvet and cringe when I get an order for it.
