Vibrant Red Candy Color

I'm making baseball cake pops for my son's birthday party. I cannot use Wilton Candy Melts or Make n'Mold Melts because my son has a peanut allergy. I've used Wilton's candy pens in the past and found them difficult to use. So, I'm looking for a true red color for the baseball stitching. Any thoughts for coloring white chocolate? I'm also thinking about using red licorice too.

Thanks in advance!

How about this type of sprinkles? Tedious, but you could lay them, one at a time, across the seam. The other suggestion would be to pipe the stitching with red RI but depending on how many you are making, that could take forever.

I actually thought about using royal icing, but I wasn't sure how it would hold up. Thanks for the suggestion of the candy. I'll probably be making roughly 24 cake pops.

Could you use a stamp of some sort to paint the stitches on? In edible colouring of course :-)

If I end up using Royal Icing, do you think it will stick to the treat bag wrapping? I've only used Royal icing once for my son's gingerbread house.

Royal Icing sets hard. Just make sure that all the equipment you use to make the icing is spotless - if you get fat into the RI while making it, it will not set up properly. Once dry it is completely non sticky :-)

I ended up piping melted white chocolate into the shape of the lacing and sprinkling with red sugar. I was pleased with the results, and it didn't take a lot of time.
