Bling On Satin Ribbon On Fondant
Decorating By Colliegirl Updated 7 Aug 2013 , 12:25am by Colliegirl
I've been reading the forums for attaching satin or fabric ribbon on buttercream cakes etc. but I want to put it on fondant and I am think that the same process, as in parchment or wax paper lining then place on cake with some edible glue. However I also have to put a blingy beaded trim on the ribbon as well and this is where I need help! I don't want the ribbon to fall because of the weight of the trim, so what is the best way? Below is the type of thing I need to do. Also wondering if the damask work on the cake is printed on edible paper. I would have thought it would be icing. What do you think? Cheers
Just wet the fondant slightly with a damp paintbrush using cooled boiled water and the fondant will stick and will not show through the ribbon. I would use a thin double sided tape to attach the bling.
Ive ended up using some stick on bling from the dollar store, nice design and soooo much cheaper and the birthday girl was happy as a pig in mud. Thanks folks for your help.
