Hi There,
I stumbled upon this Tinkerbell Cake on Pinterest and I'd love to make it for a friends daughter. Anyone know how the wings were done? Blown sugar? Gelatin? Is there even a mold for such a thing?
Thanks!
Beth
ACute cake! It's hard to see, it's so thin I think it's gelatin. But you could do it with either. I've seen butterfly molds for isomalt (CakePlay) and the gelatin molds I think I got mine from Global Sugar Art. They aren't that big though.

Above is an idea if you can't find the exact mold you want, it's for gelatin.
I've seen people use floral wire and gelatin, you bend the floral wire the shape you want and dip it in the gelatin-you can see the wires though.
I've also seen people paint gelatin and cut out the shape they want. I haven't worked with it much. I know they have gelatin sheets I wonder if you could just cut those the desired shape and add your design with disco dust.
Great link thankyou so much ;-) , it still looks tricky to me though as a beginner... maybe something to practise on a rainy day
