AOkay so I want to make French toast cupcakes with bacon but every recipe I look at includes maple. I am making this for a dinner party and the person that requested it doesn't want maple. I was wondering if it would taste good with like a French toast batter with a vanilla buttercream with bacon on top?

Yes, you could do vanilla butter cream, definitely add a pinch of sea salt to balance the taste. If you wanted to use the recipes you've found just use brown sugar instead of maple syrup.
