Hey all. I'm new to the site and new to the baking world. I'm making my son a chocolate cake for his birthday and I'm wondering do I need to cover the whole with something before I cover with my fondant icing.

Thanks. xx

Yeah, you will need to crumb coat your cake first (thin even layer to icing or buttercream) so that the fondant will have something to stick to, otherwise it will just fall off.
