What's The Oddest Thing You've Taken Into A Store To Match A Color, Design Or Shape?

I just came back from a DIY craft store and removed the graham cracker I had in my purse - for a color comparison.  I want to crush the crackers for beach sand and the cake stand needs to match -  for a cohesive look.  A light bulb came on in my head as I wondered what odd items other decorators have brought into stores for the same purpose - my second thought is that this may be even bigger than the What Not To Ask a Baker thread.

A cracker? Hahaha. Don't think I've ever done this but will be taking my packet of sugar paste to town on Friday to colour match some ribbon!

Did it match your cracker?

A client's bra. She's a friend so it wasn't awkward to receive, just strange to whip out in the middle of the ribbons sections at my craft store... But after I got the matching ribbon color I was fine for the rest of the process!

I have done this, but it was my jeans, and I just wore them!

I had Cuppadeecakes' brother make me a cake stand, that I wanted to match my buttercream, so I took a cupcake to Home Depot, for the paint. Their lighting is better :-)

It wasn't for a cake but I once brought a brick to Home Depot to get matching paint for my front door.

I think the bottom of the purse is one of the dirties things known to man, besides for port o potties, so it was probably still cleaner inside than out :-)

I Breast fed all mine, and their poop din't stink, literally, until solid food, so maybe they didn't have the smell to contend with? Hopefully?

I swear, I would change my daughter's diaper, and I would get this artificial vanilla smell through out the house, and my youngest son smelled like microwave butter flavor popcorn. I don't remember being that lucky with my oldest two, the twins.

I actually google image searched 'breast milk poop', to see what colour you meant...

Thank you, it saved me from the calories in that piece of cheesecake I was going to eat.

AThat was the color of my old bathroom and I loved it, but decided to go with the pre-digested color of said milk for resale.

And I have been carrying a sample of bamboo flooring in my purse for the last week to take everywhere with me to see if anything I look at for my new house matches it, except we're not doing the bamboo floor right away because we're too broke!

AEh from a new mother perspective breast milk poop is such a pleasant thing. Especially if you have to switch to formula. Makes ya so sad when it turns green cause its so much harder to go through their digestive systems. Although I'm sure I probably don't love the color lol.

Haha... Bleh, now I did it, and I don't know why... I have seen that color everywhere the last few years.
