I've made some rainbow cupcake this afternoon, i used buttercream for the voilet. It was a liquid colouring but its crap! What brands do people use? I've tried Dr Oetker and Silver Spoon purple liquid colours and they hardly colour the mix. Im used red, yellow, green and blue Home2Bake and they are fab but don't do purple. Also tried to mix red and blue but it isn't happening!

I found sugarflair and wilton gel colouring on ebay, will these colour batter to a good colour?

I'm sure it will. I really like gels as food colourings, much better than the watery liquid ones! Thank you :)
