My first wedding cake order!

Thread Starter

I'm both excited and a little nervous.  This is my first wedding cake order and the bride wants this cake.  Are these designs handpiped or is this some type of buttercream stencil.  Any suggestions on how I can pull this all together.  I have plenty of time until the event which isn't until next year in February, but I want to be prepared.  Any help/tips/tutorials are appreciated! Thanks!

It could be done a number of ways: freehand royal or buttercream piping; impressed designs using mats, cutters, or stamps that are overpiped; cut out fondant pieces that are overpiped; or, molded fondant [full molds or sections of molds] that are overpiped.  Too thick and detailed to be only stenciled and stenciling would be my last choice, anyway.

This cake has been on here several times and the original baker said this was all piped free handed.
