A[IMG]http://cakecentral.com/content/type/61/id/3059598/width/200/height/400[/IMG] My first ever cake, 9" covered with butter cream before fondanting , 4" high never priced one before hadnt got a clue !! until I called in my local cake shop today as I saw one similar , how much would you all have charged please or how much would you say it's worth ? Vanilla sponge by the way ,

Oh wow £15 :S I would have charged £72. I usually charge £2.25 per slice if it is simple inside and out, £2.50 if it is a 1 tier with more complexity or a multi-tiered simple and then £3 per slice for multi-tiered complex. Any figurines or flowers are priced extra. I do use ganache instead of buttercream so I can justify my prices based on the increase in price of ingredients.. and plus I value my time as in my day job I get almost £10/hour and over-time is time + 1/3 so I won't make a cake unless it's worth it.
