Hi all!!

I would like to know the proper technique for storing Gum Tragacanth.....also if the colour darkens is it a sign that I have stored it badly?? Would the colour change affect its potency?? and does it have a shelf life??

I don't have exact answers for all of the questions, but yes, gum trag does have a shelf life and loses potency over time. 

I would think that if it has discolored it may also discolor whatever it's used in. 

As with any powdered product, storage in an air tight container in a cool dry place out of direct heat & light is always advised, but as I understand it, there's still a time limit to that.  Not that it would go bad, per se, but you'd need to add more of it to get the desired result.
