I am making the cake on August 9th, which is when i will be using the fondant. How far in advance an i Make it and How would i store it if I made it in advance. I've only made it the same day i was using it. Thanks!!
AI'm thinking 2 weeks max! To be safe I always make mine on like a Sunday if the cake is due on Friday/sat
AIve made my MMF a week in advance, I crisco it then wrap in seran wrap and store it in an air tight container
A^^ I should have specified I also use mmf (marshmallow fondant) same steps when it comes to storage
Thanks! So if I make it like a week and half to 2 weeks before the party, that should be good right? I just crisco it, saran wrap it and put it in an air tight container, no refridgeration? Thank you!!
I have kept it much longer than that. I sort of judge by the date the marshmallows are "best used by". I also only use this for fondant decorations, not covering a cake. The MMF will get hard, but just soften it in the microwave for a few seconds until it is pliable again.
After I make my MMF, I smear Crisco around the outside of my fondant, double wrap in Cling Wrap/Saran Wrap, then store in an airtight container. I have never refrigerated mine before.

So sorry I didn't see this sooner. I crico mine, wrap In plastic rap, and then put in a ziploc bag and press all the air out
