AI have just started baking & I've been making chocolate tarts. I wanted to make little white chocolate plaques with writing on it (Happy Birthday, Happy Anniversary, etc.) However, when I use my food markers to write on the chocolate it is extremely light & looks like it would be easy to rub off. Any suggestions on what I can use to write on chocolate? Just saw some videos for cocoa painting but I don't have access to cocoa butter. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated! Thank you!
You could pipe melted chocolate or colored candy melts onto them.
Yes, royal works nicely, too.
You could try to use the gel type candy colors, which are oil based. They won't really dry, but if you don't rub or touch them they'll be fine.
Thank you so much for your suggestions. I guess I was looking for something like a food marker coz I'm still not that good at piping. Guess I'll just have to practice a lot! ;) Also, what I had in mind were those mini chocolate plaques at high-end bakeries with their name in the chocolate. It doesn't look piped on, so was trying to get that effect. Any idea how I can do that? Thank you again.
Those plaques to which you refer (in bakeries) probably involve transfer sheets. You are better off just learning how to pipe. I have a cake writing tutorial in my blog.
AThanks Kristen from Wicked Goodies. Your tutorial looks great. Can't wait to try it. I started reading your tutorial & then went onto another page & then another & then another... Am hooked onto your blog now. :)
