You guys are killin' me! icon_biggrin.gif
I wish I had something witty to add to this conversation, but I'm afraid it may come off as too aggressive and I'd get the whole thread locked!

Awwww please guys enough, all i see when I come on CC these days are people arguing with each other- whatever happened to respecting everybody's opinions? You guys are soo helpful and have been in the business long enough to give some top advice- so people should take that on board whether its something you want to hear or not,if you don't like it let it roll off your back if you do say thankyou. But people don't have the right to be NASTY- its not that hard. I'm not aiming this at anyone in particular I'm just saying we don't want yet another thread being locked,if I did offend anyone please accept my apologies xx

Oh, I wouldn't actually say anything offensive or hurtful, just sarcastic and maybe funny. But there is a level of sensitivity on CC lately that seems to turn conversations ugly.
I rather enjoy a bit of sarcasm in my day. It's unfortunate that some people don't value others' opinions - or humor- at times.
Back to the thread; I hope OP's cake turns out lovely, but please keep in mind, for all of us in the industry, to adhere to copyright laws & charge appropriately for your work & time.

I came on here looking for advice and opinions of other bakers. Just because I'm not "professional" doesn't mean I'm not good at it. It seems like there is a lot of positives but some of the bs is unnecessary. Anyway, I appreciate those who offer help and I'll continue to learn and open my business in time.

But the BS is most often the best part.......

lol. Sarcastic and funny is my take on it as well! It's sometimes hard to read people over the internet, especially when you don't know them.

Yes, you are absolutely entitled to your opinion. But saying "You can not call yourself a "baker" or a "cake decorator" if you take cheap shortcuts." is a bit much.

I agree. While I may decide the best route for my business is to bake from scratch, make my own figures, etc., I buy fondant. Does that make me a faker baker? icon_smile.gif
But to each his own. I don't judge you, so please do not judge me. (is this the time for like holding hands and singing in a circle now?)

HAHA! Faker baker. I think I may use that. Yes, holding hands and singing is the best way to show we all support, love, and respect each other. Hmmm....what song should we sing?
