I need to find some sugar crystals (the large ones - not the tiny extra fine colored ones that you often find at the grocery store), but they need to be made in a nut free facility or at least by "safe" for peanut and tree nut allergy people. It is my understanding that Wilton is not a "nut free facility," so theirs won't work. I have looked at the sanding sugars at Williams Sonoma and Sur La Table's India Tree sparkling sugar, but they are made in nut facilities. I know Cake Mate and Betty Crocker make their sprinkles in nut free facilities, but I haven't been able to find the right sugar crystals in those brands. They are too tiny. Any suggestions? TIA!

Thank you for your response. I considered making my own, but am unable to find the large crystal sugar. Unfortunately, the sanding sugar that Sweet Sugar Belle sells is made in a nut facility so that won't work. I do appreciate your ideas, though! :) 

Anyone else have any ideas or know where I can purchase "nut free" large sugar crystals? (Plain white or clear large crystals are fine...I can color the sugar myself) Or has anyone had any luck with raw sugar? Will that work?

India Tree has been safe in the past. Double check the label. CakeMate (by Betty Crocker) is safe, except for their fruit flavor decors.
