I've read from Lorann Oils that Gum Arabic (Acacia Powder) is used to make gumpaste.

My question is, does it work like Xanthan Gum which would give it elasticity like making chewing gum?

I have had a lot of gum paste recipes and have never, ever seen gum arabic used as an ingredient.

I can make edible sparkles with gum arabic, I can add it to royal icing to increase the stretch for stringwork, and I can make an edible glue with it, but I wouldn't see any reason to use it to make gum paste---tylose, cmc, gum trag, or gum tex work fine for that.

Thank you, the reason I asked is because there is another thread where others are posting about stretchable ri and they claim to use gumpaste.  I tried it but it has no give.
