Has anyone made a cake like this? - Page 2

My daughter's wedding was this past weekend (the 20th).  Thanks to your help, the wedding cake turned out perfectly!  I had so much fun making and decorating this cake!  As promised, I am posting a picture.  The lighting stinks because this was taken in my living room.  I'm sure the professional ones will be much better!

Thanks again ladies!

Hi, I'm making a similar cake for a wedding, but I was wondering if you attached the petals after they dried or before, and did you start at the top or bottom?
Thanks!

really pretty! I love the added ribbon!

I would only do that on fondant, so I know the petals wouldn't have a chance of sliding.

Beautiful!!

A compromise is the art of dividing a cake in such a way that everyone believes he has the biggest piece.

Hi ChefKristi!

Sorry I didn't see this earlier!  I let the petals dry completely before I started.  I first made the center rose and attached that.  Then I worked out and away from the center rose - adjusting the shape as I went.  It was intimidating to start, but once I got going, it was very easy!   Good luck and have fun!
