Baking A Cake At Same Time As Other Food

AHi, first time user with a rather odd question....
I have just baked a cake at the same time and in the same oven as some frozen sausages. The cake was on the middle shelf, the sausages were at the bottom.
Will the cake be safe to eat or will it be contaminated by the cooking of the sausages?? eg. Steam etc produced by the sausages during cooking.
Help and advice would be appreciated.
Thanks.
I don't think the steam would harm the cake. If the cakes were on the bottom and the sausages were on top and some drippings fell into the cake that would be a different story. The only thing I would be worried about would be the cakes having a sausage flavor from baking them together. When I first started baking I made that mistake with pizza and my cakes came out smelling like pepperoni lol. Luckily I was just making it as a practice cake to take to my parents and they said they didn't notice (of course they could have been being nice)
AThere shouldn't be a food safety issue, but as noted above a cake can absorb the smell of other food items, so if you only have one oven you'll want to bake the cake first and then bake the savory item.
