Hi

I normally used fondant to cover my cakes but doing a giant cupcake that will not be eaten until 3 days after I ice and wondered if buttercream will store ok in box in cool room. Was going to try piping roses all over top! perhaps I should stick to fondant ; )

The buttercream won't go bad but it will crust.  For me, 2 days is the max I want a cake waiting to be eaten.

Thanks

I guess the crust bit is ok as the cream is the decoration so prob better that it crusts...I might just go with the fondant as I know where I stand with that!
