I'm working on a quote for a bride and I'm trying to figure out how many hydrangea petals I would need to go on either a 6 in or an 8 in cake. She mentioned a large hydrangea to one of my employees during the consultation so I think just something that looks big and full on top of the cake. I've made hydrangeas for cupcake toppers in groups of three but I haven't done a really big one. Just need to know approx. how many I would need so I can quote her accurately.

Thanks!

Ali

Each flower consistes of 4 petals.  You can use as many flowers you want to give the fullness you want.

To fit on the top of a 6" cake I'd suggest something like 30 flowers.  That size would also fit nicely on an 8" w/a somewhat larger/more elaborate border.
