Hey everyone, new here and have been lurking for a while.  Loving the endless information and great ideas!  I'm just starting to play with cakes again after working a brutal job with limited time off the past few years and can't believe the amount of cake decorating toys I've picked up lately... I think my boyfriend is going to disown me soon haha.

Anyways, I need help.  I have a KitchenAid 6 qt stand mixer and would love to get a second mixing bowl for it, definitely make my life easier if I've got a few things on the go at once.  Wondering if anyone here would know of a supplier in Canada?  I stopped by Sears - the lady working was useless.  Canadian Tire, same thing.  Haven't stopped by the Bay yet but I have my doubts with them too.  I have found one online at London Drugs, but with shipping I'm looking at $115.  Any ideas or thoughts where I could possibly get one cheaper?  If I have to I'll skip my Starbucks for a month (noooo) to cover the cost but I don't think my coworkers would appreciate me short on caffeine for a whole month lol.

Thanks in advance!

AIf you need the bowl right away, you should be able to find one wherever they sell kitchen appliances, if they sell kitchen aid mixers, they will most likely also sell additional bowls and attachments. Also you can always online and buy one. Kitchen Aid's website as well as countless others. Search around cause they can vary in price. I live in the US and they're very easy to find here. Department stores, kitchen supply stores. Stores that sell home goods.

Ugh, I hate living where I live.  I have been to every store in town that sells KitchenAid mixers, but they don't carry the attachments/accessories for the 6 qt.  Buying online is a struggle, I'll get all excited thinking I finally found one only to find out they don't ship to Canada - or if they do the shipping will be as much, if not more, than the cost of the bowl itself not including customs.  KitchenAid Canada doesn't sell direct, they have a list of retailers in Canada but like I said, no one in town carries what I need and can't seem to figure out if they can order it in.  Only London Drugs online so far for about $115 which seems high, but if that's my only choice then it will have to be I guess.

If I was closer to Edmonton or Vancouver it wouldn't be an issue, but I'm at least 6 hours away from any decent stores that actually carry stock.

Any other Canadians here have ideas?  Maybe a not so well known online retailer?  Google is not being very helpful either.

Is it a tilt head, or a bowl lift machine?

Perhaps Amazon.ca, or Golda's Kitchen (both online Canadian suppliers)?  However, they may not be any cheaper than London Drugs.

Here's another online possibility.  A friend in Toronto told me about this one.  I haven't bought anything from them, tho.

Bowl lift.

Thanks for the link, they have one!!  Along with a lot more stuff... I might have to add them to my online shopping sites now haha.  Same price as London Drugs though.  I'm probably going to be placing the order with London Drugs, only because we have one in town so if I have to return it I shouldn't have any problems.

I think I need to make a huge list of things I can't get in town and head to Edmonton for a girl's weekend shopping trip.

I agree...if it's the same price, I'd go with LD, just for that reason.  :-)

Apparently Caynes store is quite amazing in person, from what I've heard.  If I'm ever in TO, I might have to check it out.  :-)
