AHello all. Ive got what I call "cakers block" lol. I'm new to the biz and my first wedding cake is due next weekend. The couple is young and on a budget; but they've given me creative reign. I would like to give them simple elegance, but I cant decide on an idea. It will be 2 tier. A 12" and10". Mable cake with BC. Also as a favor to them and a thank you for choosing my business, I'm throwing in a 6" simple topper for their save cake. So does anyone have ideas to make this cake look elegant on a dime? Any suggestions are much appreciated.

You could just do a ribbon around the base of each tier of their wedding color?  Or I'm doing one in August with the 4 row of diamond look ribbon at the base of each tier.  Easy and cheap...good luck! Oh I'm doing the same size and throwing in the 6 inch as well!  icon_smile.gif

AOh I'm glad to hear someone else did that as well. My husband thought I was crazy. But I thought of if as a smash cake.

AYou canget the bling ribbon at Michael's or ACMoorea and you can use a coupon- they have a lot of different styles-

Another way to kick it up a notch is to place it on a really nice cake base/stand-- that makes a big difference-

Maybe add a touch of scroll work - not too much and place some dragees or pearls randomly-- simple elegant with a little bling-
