I am planning on making a ballet themed cake for my daughter's 5th birthday.  I've seen some beautiful ones with gum paste ballet slippers on top.  I am wondering if anyone has advice on making these- which would work better- gum paste or fondant mixed with tylose powder?  I have worked with fondant but never gum paste or fondant with tylose.  Thanks for sharing your expert advice!

Hi JennyWren2120

The links in this post will help a lot:

Either gumpaste or a fondant-tylose mix would work fine. I don't have a preference.

Regards, Cris.

Thank you!  That template is awesome!  I'm a complete novice, so I think I'm biting off more than I can chew... we shall see!
