I am trying to make a Thomas face for a friend of mines Thomas the Train cake and I've made two so far.....but I don't really like either one!

I know we are all our worst critics so I wanted to see if you guys liked either one or none of them, before I decide if I scrap them both.

What do you think?

The white of your face lies on top of the gray.  It should be the other way around.  Thomas' eyes are sunk into the gray.  Also, make the gray part of the face as one piece instead of putting balls for the cheeks and nose.  The balls of the cheeks connect up around the eyes.  And the nose should have a bridge to the forehead.

Also, eyebrows are darker gray - not black

I like the one on the left better. I think it's supposed to be raised, not "balls on top" like on the right one.

I have this tutorial, if it helps. You work on one side, then flip it over.

Thanks everyone!  I tried playing again and just used a different "flatter" technique and I think I like this one.  He almost looks like Thomas!

What do you think??

No, the black line under the nose looks like a mustache.

If I were you I would just take off the black under the nose and embose a grin. The black is too contrasting. But it looks great!
