Can I put a fondant tier on top of a buttercream tier? The fondant tier will be 8" and the bottom will be 10". Also, will this be enough cake to serve approx 40 people? Please help!! This is my first time and the party is in 6 days. What can I start now? My cake vision: top tier is a graduation cap and the bottom is just a round bc frosted with fondant letters attached to the side that spell his name. Any suggests and tips!! HELP!

Of course you can. Check out Wilton Cake charts. If these are 4" tiers (round) this will be 62 servings...wedding cake size 1x2"
You sure can but just make sure you use dowels or some type of support for the top tier! Good luck!
