Hello,

I'm making this cake for my nephew in a couple of week.

I'm having trouble finding how to make is arms???

My cake will be covered in fondant...so is arms should also be covered in fondant.

Thank for your suggestions.

I thought of making them in gumpaste, put i'm worried they will fall once in the cake...maybe RK???

I took this picture from the internet, not sure who created it

Forgive me if i am WAY off here... fondant is still very new to me... but I would use a small gauge wire or something like that and mold the fondant around it. That way you can keep the shape of the arms without worry of sagging or falling off. It is such a small detail I *think* it would be OK? Just let the customer know the arms should be removed first for safety.

I hope that helped (and I didn't make a fool out of myself LOL!)

AI would make the arms ahead of time using fondant with tylose or Wilton's Gum-tex mixed in. The fondant will dry rock hard over a couple of days so you won't have problems with them sagging. I'd be most concerned about attaching them to the Bot's body and them not falling out from the weight. I'm guessing the arms are all one piece with the green circle attached at the side. I would put a but of skewers around the green circle for even support into the sides of the cake. I wouldn't use RKT - I think they would be too thick once covered with the fondant. You could use a bending straw and wrap fondant around that to keep it lighter. I did that with a part of the animal train cake I made in my photos.
