Hello everyone!

I'm new here and I need some help. My friend's 40th birthday is a week away and she wants me to make her a Patron tequila bottle cake.  I have never done a standing 3D cake and I am really nervous about it.  I need a non chocolate cake recipe that it is really good for carving. Any recipe suggestions? Thank you in advance for all your help.

Here is a picture of how I want the cake to look.

I use any cake flavor for carving, it just takes more time and patience. I would make the bulk of the bottom cake and then the top neck in rice crispies. Depending on how tall it'll be, including support inside. I would stack the cake normally and then pop it in the fridge till the buttercream crusts. Then carve, then refrost, then back in the fridge. The carve again, refrost again, then then fridge again until the shape is just right :) Good luck!

I highly suggest using the *original* WASC recipe:  http://cakecentral.com/recipes/7445/the-original-wasc-cake-recipe

It can be used with *ANY!* cake flavor for a really great cake for carving and eating :)
