Hello everyone,
I'm sure some of you come across this everyday, but it's my first time and i'm hoping to get some advice on how you calculate bulk prices for cupcakes.
lets say you got a 400 cupcakes order, and you charge $30 for a dozen. how would you calculate a price for that. would you make a dozen 10 or 5 dollars less? or still charge the original price?
I appreciate any tips here :)
AI charge full price for up to 36 then drop it by a dime for up to 60 then drop it by a quarter for orders over 96 and drop it fifty cents for orders over 204. That's as low as I go. Over 204 the price is the same. By dropping it they feel they get a good deal and you are doing them a favor and will be return customers ;-). Hope that helps. But keep in mind if they have fondant that's a whole nother story. This is buttercream only. I don't drop much on fondant because of the time involved. Wedding cupcakes may have more details also. I would work out a price guide that works for you and stick to it or their friends may call and you charge them more or less that will/may cause problems. Make sure you have insurance if selling to large groups to CYA.
AThank you for replying. When you're saying you drop a dime and a quarter, is that from each cupcake or from the dozen price? Excuse my ignorance :(

When you say you drop by a dime , is that from each cupcake of from the dozen price? Thanks :)
