AHi guys I'm new to cake central & also new at decorating cakes! But I was wondering if anyone has decorated cake ruffles with whipped cream frosting as I am making a tres leches and I feel like that frosting complements it best! Any suggestions will help, thanks!
do you have a petal tip? if so, it´s really easy to make ruffles. you just need to make your frosting stiff enough. for that you can use "whip it" from dr. oetker or just put some cornstarch and powdered sugar (as far as i know those are the basic ingredients of whip it...) into your whiped cream. if the frosting holds its shape, you just put the bigger end of the tip towards the cake and the thinner one outside. then just move the tip up and down (or forwards and backwards) in an even motion. and tada: beautiful ruffles :)
have fun! :)
AThank you! I have seen a few tutorials & it does look like such a simple but pretty technique! Your def right, it just depend on my consistency of the frosting. Thanks for the links! Happy baking! :)
