AI've been asked to create a similar shoe to the one attached for a cake. Any suggestions of how best to make the clear heel? http://dropdeadgorgeousdaily.com/2013/03/clear-cut-10-of-the-best-pvc-shoes/

Many thanks!

Maybe isomalt? you would have to make your own mold first, but maybe it could work? Or perhaps gelatin sheets? Then you would get a pattern on it but maybe it's better than nothing? And if you do use gelatin you would need to make the shoe very front heavy since the sheets offer very little support.. hope it helps :)

I stumbled across this video tutorial on making silicon molds for glasses and how to use the molds to make glasses out of isomalt:

maybe it could help?

AThank you for these suggestions. I've been playing around, and I think I found a way to do it with gelatin.

Hopefully it will work out.

Or maybe you can either find similarly shaped acrylic or have someone cut acrylic in that shape to use as the actual cake stand.
