I recently saw some Magic Decor  by Pavoni Italia on some cakes and cupcakes online. I was wondering if anyone has used this?

It looks like SugarVeil but it's not. Please click here to view the made from Dolce Parlare. It is very beautiful!

Exactly like Sugar Vail or Unbreakable Lace.  Just packaged under a different name.

I think this one is the same as SugarVeil, you should try Cake lace it stays flexible for the life time of the product and you can make this up within 20 minutes. Fantastic product.

I have just started to use the Magic Decor and I am not finding it easy at all, I also find the finer the piece of lace you make tends to break easily, I have tried all 3 ways of drying it and having very poor results

You will find that Claire Bowman Cake Lace the easiest one to use.  Doesn't break or go brittle. Stays flexible for months and months.  I have some which I made up last September and layered it between sheets of parchment to keep it and it is still as good as the day i made it.

Also Sweet Lace from Doric is the same

I am just about to try Magic Decor as I sold some to a cake decorator friend of mine and she

complained the same saying its very brittle and hard compared to the Claire Bowman Cake Lace.

I have used Cake Lace in the past.  It remained flexible for quite a while.  I made Magic Decor lace this week for a wedding cake that is due next week.  I noticed today it has already gotten brittle and will break if you look at it wrong.  I am freaking out.  I spent a lot of time on this stuff.  When I add water or piping gel to the back of this, will it become flexible enough to wrap around a cake?  Right now, in its present stage, it is going to crumble like fine potato chips.

idk -- never used it -- i used the stuff at hobby lobby -- sunny bakery something or other, sunnyside i think it was -- just wanted to say i'm sorry you're having this issue -- the sunnyside stuff gave great results if that's any help at all and inexpensive --

do you have little piece you can test with?

I am going to test some tomorrow afternoon.  If all else fails, since it looks like I am going to have to remake them, I will wait until I have the cake stacked and make them one-by-one and put them on the cake.  That way, I will use the stuff up, and remember the ordeal when it comes time to make lace again.  Thanks for the suggestion for Hobby Lobby.

Most of the mixes that stay really flexible have you add a second component...basically just glycerine...after the initial mix of the powder and water.
