I want to find a good recipe for drop sugar cookies that are pretty flat when they are done. Something similar to bakery cookies.

There are many recipes that call for flattening the dropped cookie with the bottom of a glass - I've used a wooden tart tamper with good results. The next problem is that the edges aren't very neat.
