I have a request for a baby bum cake this weekend. I  have never made one yet as I find them cute and weird having only half a baby. What is the easiest way to make a baby bum cake? The only ball pan I have is a soccer ball so it might be to big. Would it be best to use rtk and cover in fondant so it weighs less than cake? I don't want to have to worry about doweling for this one. TIA for any help.

I made a baby bum cake. I made a sheet cake and used the ball pan for the bum. Are you putting the bum on top of a cake? If so, you may need to use dowels. Just a few, the bum is not going to have that much weight to it. You could use rice krispie treats and cover with fondant, but you may need to put just a few dowels underneath. You can use a sturdy straw instead of wooden dowels. I have done that before and it works fine.
