Sorry, Venting a lil. I would not like to see someone elses name tagged to a pic of one of MY cakes.

I load pics of the cakes I make onto FaceBook for folks to see and inquire about. That said, I am getting alot of people who post pictures of "cool" Neet" gorgeous" cakes made by other artists on my FB page and TAGGING it with my name. So how to politely discourage this trend?? It really miffs me, but not wanting to come off mean or  "-itchy".

I do realize people are trying to 'give me ideas', relate to me, etc. I do see the friendly guesture in alot of it.

I agree.  Certain people on my facebook page keep tagging me with cake photos...and some of the cakes are HIDEOUS!

I always have friends showing me "an amazing cake" in a magazine or on Pinterest or whatever, and I'm thinking, "I see dozens of cakes every day on Cake Central that are waaaay better than that one!

I think you can block people from tagging you in photos in your settings.  I'm sorry I can't remember where the option is.

I get annoyed when people comment on a photo that I post of my cakes on my page, and say "Cute cake from so and so cakes" then put a link to their page.

I don't know if its just me but it grinds my gears!

You can set Facebook so that you review any tags that people make of you and they won't show up on your page unless you okay it.  I would use that setting.

I also post my cakes for my friends to see and now I find people tagging me with other cakes all the time.  I know they are trying to help with ideas, but some of the cakes are just awful...sorry if that made me sound very rude and no way am I professional.  I even have them tagging me in their Walmart wedding cakes and that really upsets me when they do that.

hahahaha!

I had people tagging me in cakes a lot to get quotes, but I was afraid that people would think it was my cake, so I only left them for a couple weeks and deleted them. But there was one cake I couldn't find again, and I needed to make it! That was no good...

I haven't been tagged but I've had people post pictures of cakes on my page with comments like "I thought of you when I saw this". I don't comment on them and after a few days just delete them. One was a naughty cake and I was mortified! It was really awkward, too, because the person who posted it is on the school board of the district in which I work. I have nothing against naughty cakes, they're just not my style and I don't make them icon_wink.gif

I don't do naughty cakes either, not because they offend me, or I can't But because every naughty cake I have done in the past was ordered by seriously trashy people that I don't want to deal with, kwim?

I hate it when people put pictures of cakes on my facebook page, because I really don't care about cakes, to tell the truth. I don't spend time looking for photos of cakes just to look, it's not my preferred way to spend my free time, it's just work. Having said that, go into your privacy settings and choose the tagging options and posting options that let you approve things before they show up on your page. I think that they're still tagged on the other end but you can deny the tag on yours.

I did one once and it came out pretty well but it was just weird. I decided after that no body parts whatsoever.

I did discuss it with my husband though, and we were both flabbergasted.... This isn't just a job for me, it is my passion! I became legal so I could buy more cake toys!

Hahaha! It's my job, not a hobby. I have other hobbies that I do for enjoyment, I don't spend my free time looking at pictures of cakes, for pete's sake. You'd end up being one of those people on "my strange obsession" like the troll doll lady who just spends all her time thinking about trolls.

AIt's, it's not normal to spend every living, breathing moment thinking about cake? But, but what else is there to think about? *Pupils dilate, starts to scratch arm, neck twitches, bewildered look on face* There's more to life than, than cake? Th-th-there's more?

Nah! If you cut me, all you'll find is cake and SMBC. LOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hahaha! I'm turning you in to the "My Strange Obsession" people. They'll be calling you to be featured on the next episode.
