Next week I am making a cake for my husbands cousin. It will be 2 tier and the top tier will look like a black graduation cap. For the brim what is the best material/method to get a nice sturdy square that will not droop? She is picking up on saturday and the party is on sunday. Will it be fine to leave it out on the counter overnight? It will be buttercream and fondant.
Thanks in advance!
Just looked in Buddy's book (Cake Boss) book and he used cardboard. He put buttercream then covered it with fondant good luck

Thanks, my original thought was to use gumpaste or a gumpaste/fondant mix but I am going to buy the black fondant since I hate mixing black or red lol. But then I would have to try to match the pre-made color. This is probably the best solution. Thanks!
