Hey everyone, I have a Red Velvet Box mix from Betty Crocker.

The box mix calls for:

65ml vegetable oil

205ml water

3 medium eggs

I was wondering if there was any way to make it taste less 'boxy' and more home-made. If you have any suggestions I'd love to hear them icon_biggrin.gif

Also I will be making a cream cheese frosting to accompany it

AIt has more red color in it than any self-respecting baker would ever use, so you could start by cutting it half and half with a white mix. It will still be red. Add a couple tsps cocoa powder and use a cup of sour cream, for half the liquid. I don't like wasc AT ALL.
