Hi everyone!

I've searched the forums quite a bit before I decided to ask, since I couldn't find a really concise response. I am doing my daughters baptism cake and I am looking for a tasty icing that is good under fondant and doesn't need to be refrigerated. I'd also prefer something without shortening. Thank you in advance! icon_biggrin.gif

AWell I'll take a shot at it. I use an all butter BC for my cupcakes and have used it to ice a cake with on numerous occasions when using fondant since it holds it's stickiness so to speak. I have also heard (and plan on testing it out this week) that a white or chocolate ganache is great when using fondant since it holds it's shape so well. HTH

1 cup butter 1 tsp vanilla 1/4 tsp almond 1/4 tsp butter flavor 2 lb bag sugar 2 Tbsp of milk or whipping cream

AThank you so much, I'll try this out! I've read a lot about ganache on here lately but have been too afraid to try. Let me know how your cake goes! :-)
