I need to make a cake with a pearl pipping on it. I want the pipping to have a pearl look but I dont want to have any pearl on the fondant of the cake. How do I make my buttercream look like pearl without brushing it with luster dust after its already on the cake?

Mix the pearl dust into your icing before decorating.

It really won't help much to mix the dust into the b'cream :(

One option would be to water down your b'cream some until it shines.  The more shortening you mix into the b'cream the better this will work.  But that will make the icing thin and harder to work with.
