Hi I am brand new to this site. Also pretty new to decorating but I LOVE it. I have started a small business out of my home and do about 3 cakes a week. I do have a question though that I am hoping to get some help on.. I was recently asked to do a cake that I am not sure how to go about doing. Professionals.. PLEASE help! A lady wants a wedding cake that looks like this..

I am wondering how to get the dark purple to look crinkled like that? What is that technique? I'm not even sure if it's fabric, fondant, or icing..or what it is?! I just have never seen anything like it so please give me so advice and tips..thank you!!

they are fondant - you make them in similar way to creating ruffles but fold or pleat them in a more uniform manner. They look stunning in that colour don't they?
