AI do cakes at home. Starting up my business. Not so easy...Currently, that's my "job". I need to go back to work to pay for our wedding this year and its at a newly opening bakery. Knowing I have a long pastry background and management background, I got a job at the bakery as the front of house manager. They specialize in French pastries, not birthday/special occasion cakes. There's nothing I had to sign about working/using recipes. Does anyone think that it's a conflict of interest?
From my previous experiences there should not be any conflicts of interest unless you try to "steal away" customers. Which I doubt you'd do since you've already expressed concern for being fair to your employer.
Typically, French bakeries are considerably different then American bakeries. So be aware of that and expect there to be a learning curve, even though you're experienced.
Good Luck!...and have fun!
