I make my own fondant and I have been using the same recipe and method since 1 year.

all of a sudden it has lost all its elasticity and when I put it on the cake it cracks from corners and falls apart.. I have no idea what Im doing wrong. please help!!

This is basically the recipe I use. I only use 1 Tbs gelatin though, and I don't bother with the shortening anymore I actually thought the shortening and/or the glycerin could have caused the mess. Have you changed your brand of sugar?

When the same thing happened to me I really didn't want to dump the batch so I made a batch of marshmallow fondant and mixed the two. Worked great.
