I am using store bought rkt as I am only making a whale tail.  I squeezed them as much as I could and have let them set for several hours.  I even put them in the freezer for about a half hour but they are still too soft.  Will they stiffen up if let to sit overnight?  I was going to put bc on them before fondant but now I'm thinking I should try candy melts.  Is there a trick to getting them to harden up?

Hmm...is it a generic brand? I've never had that problem with the name brand, they usually get hard after I squeeze them. If they've been sitting out for several hours already, they may not harden up much more -- they have so many additives/preservatives in them to keep them soft on the shelves that it just might not happen!

Sorry, that stinks when something you used before doesn't work out as planned!

Thank you for your reply.  I am using a name brand.  I've tried these before as well as making my own and I always get the same results, too soft.  Since it is small I may try putting it back in the freezer for a bit and then covering in chocolate to see if that doesn't hold up.
