I am a real BEGGINER. Please, could someone indicate to me what are the threads I could access for simple things, like why my fondant gets as dry...  as an example.  When I put little ice sugar gets stuck in the table, if I add more...the result is not so nice... I live in a very dry climate. I have watched thousands of YouTube videos and it looks easier than actually is. I wonder if I ever will be able to make a nice cake like the ones I see here.  icon_sad.gif Thank you, Beth

I have found that the best way to search for things like that is to use google.  Type in what you want followed by cake central.  That will bring up relevant threads from cake central.  For example I just tried     fondant sticking cake central     and several things showed up.  The third one has readers mentioning corn starch, shortening rather that powdered sugar.

AIf you are close to the craft stores where you could take the wilton courses would help you a lot too.

Yes, definitely use Google, it will bring you to the Cake Central threads that address your issues.  The search page on this website doesn't work as well as Google, for some reason.

Thank you for your answers! I will try the Google. The reason I cant take a course now it's because I work full time, and with a family plus other obligations I have really no time. This is a new hobby. To tell you the truth, I always wanted to learn how to decorate cakes and just taking time to practice now, it's kind of a challenge!  I just made a rose with sugar paste0fondant today and I  feel like a million bucks!! I do appreciate your replies. Thank you again.

You say you have watched thousands of youtube videos, but if you are looking for more instruction, my favorites are seriouscakes and tonedna1.  I like how thorough they are and they really get into detail.  Great ones on stacking and smoothing among many other topics.  Not just a 30 second video of a person showing off how they made a buttercream rose or something.

Thanks about the roses , that was before I took the wilton courses my roses look alittle better now or at least I like to think so. I want to buy the stuff from Edna De la Cruzs website and learn how to do her flowers. Shes so nice I just love her. Her website is www.designmeacake.com she has awesome tutorials on her website.
