I went to cut my "practice" wedding cake and there are blue spots throughout. Please Help.

Hello Everyone,
I am making a wedding cake for a customer and after finishing my practice cake I started to cut it and there are blue spots through out. My cake is a scratch vanilla bean cake recipe, with a thin layer of American vanilla bean butter cream to prevent the filling from soaking in to the cake, and then a home made raspberry filling using raspberries, sugar, water, lemon juice and cornstarch. Any ideas on what would cause this? I have been wracking my brain! Thanks for any and all suggestions.

I'm pretty sure it's raspberry seeds. I sell a lemon cupcake with raspberry frosting (made with real frozen raspberry puree), and when you bite it there is a blue tinge between the frosting and the sponge. This doesn't happen on the odd occasion when I make the frosting with raspberry jam though. You could try adding a thicker layer of buttercream under the filling to make sure it doesn't seep through?

That is just from the raspberry. Many colors make up the red of berries including blue.

Thi is my lemon with raspberry:

It's never "just cake!"

You may get a cake for $way to little but you won't get this cake!

If you look real close, you can see the same thin blue line where the cake meets & dilutes the color.
