Jan is wonderful. The personal service is amazing. She sent me all her tips because I've never used sugarveil. I'll get my order next week - can't wait!
Yes, yes, same here! I love her customer service because how many times do you get personal assistance when you buy a product?! I followed her instructions and my lace came out beautiful! I'm ready to place another order since she said she'll be getting new 'ribbon mats' -- I want to experiment with those too!!

I've been trying to find the U-Tube video on the ribbon mats and how she used luster coloring before she put the crystal lace in but I can't find it. Did you see it - very cool.
Not to say Sugarveil isn't great but there was this thread about using RI and gumpaste to copy the sugarveil recipe
oh no your fine..wasn't sure the info was even still wanted. Just thought I'd throw it in there if it was.
OP was looking for a different mold and she already has sugarveil so maybe she doesn't want to try anything else?

Ahhhhhhh - Well The Baker's Kitchen makes a gum paste mix that has a recipe for "the poor man's sugarveil" as It's been called. I haven't tried it so I don't know if it really works.
me either because I only have the wilton gumpaste and it hasn't been proven to work and I'm not trying it $$$
lace moulds for use with sugarveil on ebay http://www.ebay.es/itm/151097979481?ssPageName=STRK:MESELX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1555.l2649
AHi, I haven't bought any of these, but have bought many other items from this company and have always been pleased with their products, you might like to read about thiese lace mats.
I have found lots of molds at a reasonable price here:
https://www.etsy.com/listing/152502710/classic-rose-style-beautiful-edible
Etsy has a good selection and the prices are very good but the product is coming from mainland China. So the down side is that the shipping time is almost 1 month!
AHi, I dont get the gumpaste mix where I live. Is it not the same as tylose or cmc? Sorry, really dont know what it is. But, the idea sounds so great, I just have to try it out
Good News. http://www.crystalcandy.co.za/ now has an on-line store and their shipping has been reduced. I just ordered one of their new mats and 4 cylinders of crystal diamonds. The shipping was $12.53. It takes 7 - 10 business days to receive your order, but it is well worth the wait. You can also buy the molds from www.allaboutcakeart.com/. They are a little more expensive but you will receive the molds in less time. Happy Decorating.

This is the South African one. The Crystal Candy mix is so much cheaper than Sugarveil as well. It seems like it would be worth it to save that money, even if shipping is more.
Oh I have found some amazing mats and the prices are great, they also do coloured flexible icing. Amazing see link for pictures: https://www.facebook.com/pages/Cake-Lace/449970315098147?id=449970315098147&sk=photos_stream
You can buy from Cake lace UK or the Cake Decorating Company: http://www.thecakedecoratingcompany.co.uk/catalog/index.php?cPath=999
