I am going to be making big batches of lemon cupcakes, as well as cherry-chocolate cupcakes.

Does anyone have a really good lemon buttercream frosting recipe they would be willing to share? As well as a cherry-vanilla recipe? I am actually thinking of doing a two-flavored swirl on the cherry-chocolate cupcakes - half chocolate buttercream and half cherry vanilla.

I'm open to any other frosting pairings (as long as I have the recipe ;) that would work well with these types of cupcakes.

My boss just made a cream cheese icing with maraschino cherry juice.  It was really good and the flavor came through very strong.  I would start with a regular buttercream, use the maraschino cherry juice to thin (3 or 4 tbs).  I would use vanilla bean paste or a vanilla bean for the vanilla flavor, so it doesn't throw off the texture of the buttercream.  You could also chop the cherries very fine and add those in.  They would pipe fine through a large tip.
