I was going to make a rainbow layered cake and was wondering if it would need supports since it will be 6 layers? I was going to keep the layers about 3/4 inch or so with filling in between.

All the pics I have seen of the cake after it is sliced..show no cake boards in between or anything?

So for example in the second picture here

you cant see any cake boards etc in the cake after it is sliced?

Do you typically add support in a rainbow layered cake?

AYou'll be fine without support. I did a 9" 6 layer ombré without support & my layers are 1".

If you'll be transporting it, it wouldn't hurt to put one or two bamboo skewers in to prevent the layers from sliding apart from one another, but "supports" aren't required.
