My friend sent this to me today I don't know if any of you have seen it on facebook but I wanted to share.. what a cool way to seperate eggs

oh my god --i'm nominating this for a daytime emmy!!!

i get so messy doing that

 

i cannot believe this

i just did it--since i was making some royal icing anyhow

 

did it in a bowl and while it did work it also slipped right back out and broke -- oh no! ;)

 

so next time i did it on a saucer--perfect--held the bottle more horizontal so it couldn't slip back out

 

and i'm using a coke bottle which has a longer neck

 

the shorter neck is the best

 

and of course nice cold eggs are a little heartier

 

so much fun!!!

fwiw--a random egg separating tip

 

if you get a tad of yolk in the white you can pick it up with a piece of egg shell which draws it out like a magnet

I'll be testing it out tomorrow... can't wait I hate having slimmy hands when I separate eggs

it'd be good to have several empty bottles ready to go if you're doing a lot of egg whites because if the yolk breaks you have to stop & wash the bottle

 

it's fun!
